No doubt that Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure now are the leaders in the cloud market and it’s hard to find someone living now and didn’t hear about AWS / Azure. At least you will know a friend who knows a friend who got certified. Every morning I check my LinkedIn to find one of my connection added those Associate certificates to their profiles.
Creating a sound cloud architecture and making sure all aspects of design, development, release, and maintenance are covered can be daunting. Microsoft and AWS have published their own set of best practices and frameworks for building cloud solutions on their respective platforms.
AWS is the leader in the cloud market followed by Azure and they have very strong marketing team’s plus their flexibility with the developers by giving a free 1-year trial. In addition to that, they have availability zones everywhere which guarantee to have your data within your network zone which will overcome the main security concern for many clients.
To allow for an easier traversal of these two frameworks: Azure Application Architecture Guide (Microsoft) and the Well-Architected Framework (AWS), I have created the following 2 mind maps.
